An authentic servant sees the verb not the label.  

"Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.' Matthew 16:24 

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..." Matthew 28:19-20a 

You see, we are called to be followers and learners of Christ, but also teachers pointing others to Christ.  At the core of every authentic Christian mission that serves to share and changes lives with the gospel of Jesus Christ, makes a way for discipleship to continue on when they are gone. It is an honor to serve the Almighty God and be His hands and feet wherever you are, but discipleship is a lifelong commitment and command, not just a some label.  Even the greatest evangelists prepared a way for people to be discipled after they were gone. 

The most important discipleship is the relationship between the disciple and Christ Himself.  

I love the reward of following Christ, the depth of our peace and joy comes from not being of this world and having a greater wisdom and understanding this is not the end and the story has already been written.   

"Then he turned to his disciples and said privately, “Blessed are the eyes that see what you see." Luke 10:23
